PLANET TURKEY has begun to implement the “Technical Assistance for Enhancing Coordination and Promotion of the COSME Programme and Capacity Building for SME Support Infrastructure” as a consortium partner.
The COSME program is the big European initiative for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises aiming at improving the access to finance for SMEs. It is a Union Program developed by the EU considering the importance of SMEs in achieving the objectives of the 2020 Strategy for the revitalization of the EU economy after the global economic crisis. The program covers the dates 2014-2020.
The purpose of the project is to increase the intermediary organizations and SMEs’ knowledge on COSME and to enhance their coordination capacity in Turkey for effective participation in the Programme and the Small Business Act framework.
The expected results are: “the increase of the institutional capacity of KOSGEB to coordinate COSME; the support of the current and potential COSME beneficiaries in Turkey; and the enhancement of COSME publicity in Turkey.”
The main activities include; the development of institutional capacity of KOSGEB in coordinating COSME; support to current and potential COSME beneficiaries, i.e. chambers, municipalities, foundations, associations, public organisations, financial intermediaries, development agencies, universities, etc. promotion COSME through various events and dissemination of promotional materials and online tools and the launch of the next Union Programme.
